Raw Food

Most people eat the SAD(Standard American Diet) foods. The processed food. The fast food. The junk food. The food that they are addicted to. The food that is oftentimes on sale & has a form of corn, or soy in the label. Why? Because many think it's OK, it's healthy, it's what's available. Why are Americans said to be over fed & under nourished? Can we be healthy without eating the SAD food? Where would we start? The Mediterranean Diet and the Raw Diets, are in my opinion, the healthiest in the world.

Raw foodism, also known as rawism, is a lifestyle promoting the consumption of uncooked, unprocessed foods, often organic, as a large percentage of the diet. When 75-100% of your total food consumption is raw food, you are a raw foodist.

Raw is not just about salads,

It's about smoothies, GREEN SMOOTHIES full of blended up veggies & fruits.

It's about food that has been heated up to 104 or some say 120 degrees. I like to heat mine to 115 degrees using a dehydrator . To go any higher could degrade or destroy the enzymes(which help in digestion & absorption)of the food.

It's about not eating nuts without first soaking them in water for a few hours or overnight? Soaking them activates their enzymes & they become easier to digest.

It's about eating soups that have been made by veggies & spices put into your blender & blended up till smooth & lightly warmed.

It's about using a dehydrator which uses a fan to dry out your food. This way you can save it for years. Also, dehydrated food can be taken along when you go hiking or on long trips or be saved for a natural disaster. There are many types of food you can make using a dehydrator, like sliced dried fruit, fruit roll-ups, granola, bread, crackers or pizza crusts, croutons, dried spices & herbs, potpourri, dry flowers or crafts, jerky & much more.

It's about juicing.

It's about ice cream, Raw Ice Cream that's made from ingredients like soaked cashew nuts, almond milk, coconut meat, vanilla, nut or peanut butter and agave nectar or honey, dates or cocoa or other interesting ingredients.

It's about cheeses made from nuts & nutritional yeast & other easy to find items.

Try to see how much raw food you can add into your life. Search online for raw food recipes or you tube videos. When you find & try some recipes then add your favorite or recipe changes to my recipe link on the top of my blog page. I am new at raw foods & I'm a picky eater with a teen who is also a picky eater so I am searching the world(online world anyway)trying to find raw recipes. Thanks for any helpful recipes you can provide.
